Settle your grudges
Player grudges are live, Faction Stats is all new, and push notifications tell you your table. Plus team events, automatic army comp tagging, and more.
Published 17 July 2026
Before anything else: thank you. Nearly 2,400 of you now have OWR accounts, and a growing number back the platform as Pro supporters.
A couple of months back we shipped team tournaments and asked you to give them a spin. You did. SNAKE EYES: More Mulchy More Cakey ran 42 players in 4-player teams on OWR in June, the biggest hosted team event yet. Guangzhou 3 ran doubles in China last weekend. And across the wider scene, Spain's Final Nacional packed 90 players into 6-player teams, the biggest Old World event of the past two months anywhere.
Meanwhile we've been shipping. Here's what's new since May.
The new Faction Stats
Faction Stats has been rebuilt from the ground up and went live this week. It's the biggest upgrade to OWR's data since the site launched. Have a dig around, or watch the video walkthrough first.
The old stats stopped at a faction's overall wins and losses; the new ones go all the way down to individual faction matchups.
Matchup matrix. Who beats who, faction vs faction, with a win rate for every pairing.
Auto-tiering. The S through F tier list is calculated from the results, not fixed by hand.
Trends over time. Toggle between win rate and meta share, drag to zoom into a date range, and every filter lives in the URL so you can share exactly what you're looking at.
Per-faction deep dives. Every faction gets its own screen: how it matches up across the whole field, and how much of its performance comes down to the player.
Filter by composition. Army comps are now a first-class dimension. Filter faction stats, army lists, and tournament browsing by comp, and events show comp badges so you know what ruleset a result came from.
Elo ratings for the global rankings are on the way. And there's a full methodology page explaining how every number is calculated.
Player Grudges: call someone out
The most requested "fun" feature we've had. When you register for a tournament, you can now issue a grudge against another attendee: a called shot at a round-one matchup. They accept (or decline, the coward), the TO gets final say, and the pairing engine honours locked grudges when round one goes up.
Issue a grudge from your registration page, on web or in the apps.
Multiple pending grudges are fine; the first one accepted locks in and the rest politely stand down.
TOs can force or clear grudges, and turn the whole feature on or off per event.
Both players get an email when a grudge locks, so you have something to sweat about all week.
Works for team events too: team grudges lock team-vs-team matchups in the pairing screen.
Team tournaments, road tested
Team events launched in May, and the first real ones have now run start to finish on OWR. That produced a solid round of improvements driven by actual TOs mid-event:
TOs can manually pair and lock team matchups.
Captains enter per-team soft scores, and best-of votes are attributed to the team rather than each player.
A solo registrant can join a team themselves with a captain code; no TO shuffling required.
Captain-pays-for-everyone got smoother, and public team results show W/L/D and points.
Thinking about your own doubles or team event? Host it on OWR.
Push notifications, and a Call the TO button
Push notifications are a welcome addition to the mobile beta. Pairings go up, and your phone tells you your table and your opponent. Final results, standings for events you follow, list approvals, and reminders arrive by push or email, each with its own toggle in your preferences.
Call the TO: tap the button in Battle Hub mid-game and the TO gets a push with your table number. If they haven't set up their phone, it falls back to email.
The apps go live publicly within the next week. Can't wait? Join the beta and get in now.
I'm at Oldhammer this weekend, so I might be a little slow to respond.

Army comps, tagged automatically
Every event now shows its army comp, detected and tagged automatically. Presets range from official packs like Battle March and Open War to community-made ones.
See something tagged wrong? Correct a Result fixes it in one tap, right from the event page.
What's new, now inside OWR
You shouldn't need to follow us on socials to know what changed. OWR now shows release notes in-app: a What's New popup for meaningful updates (once, then it gets out of your way), an unread badge in the header, and a full history at /release-notes. Works on web, in the apps, and even for logged-out browsing.
For TOs: sharper communications
Compose Messages can now target exactly who you need to nag:
Unpaid - everyone still owing, including team joiners who haven't checked out.
Waitlisted - everyone queued for a spot.
Remember, OWR Pro hosting organisers get these extra email communication features as part of the package.

Software is a dream, I'm never running an event without it ever again π
If you're a TO thinking about it, the hosting docs walk you through the whole thing.
